Excellent Drill Press!
I researched large drill press for more than 12 months before choosing this Delta 18-900L Drill Press. I was exploring the other Delta drill press that never went into production. I compared this product to the Powermatic model for around 4 weeks every time I visited my local Woodcraft store. I love details about both models. I made a decision to choose the Delta model since it tilts forward, has hardly any vibration if any, 6 inch quill stroke, and quite simple clamping ability. I love the keyed chuck about this product it ensures a great grip on the bit. I waited awhile before penning this review and so i could do justice to the review. I favor this product though it is not instant variable speed, but, it takes just one minute to modify the belt speed and there’s no go out on the bit. Read all of the information on both models. Great Drill Press and Great Price!
Got my new drill press also it a lot more than surpasses my anticipations. It did take two to set it up because of the weight but apart from that the setup was extremely easy and just took about 40 minutes before I was running a business. The laser truly supports getting the drill wherever I what it really and speeds the entire process. Forget about attempting to line things up by vision. Just place the crosshairs from the laser where I would like it and drill away. Wish I’d bought this Delta 18-900L in the past. I’d a less costly one that never did drill a straight hole, regardless of how much I attempted to level it. Initially I must say I was incredibly impressed and Happy with the absolutely free shipping… Delivered into my garage didn’t need unloaded it.
I got myself this Delta 18-900L Drill Press to exchange my 12-inch bench top Ryobi drill press… It provided me nicely for that time I’d also it was time to progress to a bigger drill press…
The fir and finish of the drill is extremely nice plus the assembly directions were quite simple to follow…. I had to spend about Half an hour to assembly – attaching the drill go to the post needs a couple… after I had it together I test spindle run out it was .001, used the belt adjusting need to say it was fairly simple and easy , very little fuss into it….
The 6-inch quill stroke is great and that I drilled some holes as much as 1 3/8th without having any difficulties in QSWO….
The job lamp is a superb touch and also the lasers needed just a little adjusting. Total I’m really pleased with my investment…..
I’d to determine in between the Delta 18-900L and also the PM 2800… I was lucky that the nearby store had both Drill Presses and so I could compare each other.. I felt the Delta was a better quality tool in addition to this and also the mixed reviews that the PM2800 was getting helped me choose the Delta was the ideal way to go….
